Creating technical sketches by hand posed a different challenge than creating them by computer. While making mistakes were easier to eliminate via computer, keeping a steady hand in the process of manually creating flats was essential. Different techniques are applied to manual technical sketches. Knowing when to use different weights on paper with pen was a similar concept as it is on the computer.
